Combines 20 or 25

I would definitly go with the 25'. You have already spent the big money for the capacity you might as well make the most out of your combine. We run 30' flex and 36' drapers and we can get through 20' gates without taking them off by either tilting the tracker or snaking our way through. Most bridges you will be able to tilt and go over if there are no signs on the one banister. As for trailering, it is a pain at times but it is safer on longer moves. You will also find that the 25' will do the best job out of the three different sizes because you field tracker will be operating the most efficient with the 25. We were concerned about changing from 20 - 25' 10-12 years ago because of our terrain, but after we made that change it didn't take us long to change up the 30' because of the fact you have more flex out of a 30 and your field tracker has more response on the ends. Go with 25'. We went with a 25' and in soys a 30' would be better capacity for a 2366.

JF, When harvesting soybeans do you ever "belly" a 1020 header to avoid small stonesIJ I know on a 1460 cable system you could do this...any thoughts or suggestions....thanks

I am not totally sure I understand what you are asking, do you mean put extra pressure down on the the ground to get the guards to point upIJ If this is what you mean than the answer is no. With a 1020 you are better off keeping it as light on the ground as possible in rocky ground, reason being if the rock is in the ground it will bounce over it and if you do pick up a rock it will most likely roll back off the cutter bar. You will also replace fewer guards because the cutter bar will give or flex easier. If you are going to be doing alot of rocky ground the 3" knife is the only choice, the old 1.5" would pick more rock in a day than a Haybuster rock picker.

I find it depends on how big and far apart your fields are.A 20 footer is still able to make short road trips without trailering. In longer fields I can only get one round on with a 25 footer and can squeaze 2 in with 20 feet. Running 25 feet now but my next will be back to 20. Some things to keep in mind.
