You may be impressed with Payne's operation but he is one of the least liked cutters on the run do to his constant price cutting.

Just to settle my curiosity..... Was this a documentary about either custom harvesters or harvesting grain or was it a movie with a plot just like any others you see at the theatreIJ I read on here some time back about one called American harvest or The great harvest that had 8820's in it. I'm fairly sure this isn't the one your referring to.

The "Two thousand mile harvest" was a documentary made by a UK film crew in 1995 who followed custom cutter Scott Payne's (lincoln NB) 10 JD 9600's on the harvest run from Munday TX to Canada. In 2005 the same film crew went back on the harvest run with custom cutters Rick Farris (Case combines_Peterbilt trucks) and Frederick Bros (J.Deere combines_Kenworth trucks). This documentary is called "Custom cutters". They are both available as DVD's via mail order from here in the UK as follows: telephone 00441628 662894 (remember we are approx 8 hours time ahead of the USA) Fax 00441628 665337 E-mail: FWoffers@corocharm.co.uk Website www.fwi.co.uk (UK's main Farmer weekly magazine)

Thanks I will try this I am in the UK so no problems on time. To Deerebines this is a genuine documentary not some film involving some big star with a glimpse of a combine and dubious love interest. Have not seen it for years so cannot rmember exactly what it does cover. Whizz

If you look a little farther down the Massey page you will see a post ( combine movies )I made some time ago saying that I have made a DVD copy of the movie you are looking for, It is called Yellow Trail From Texas. If you would like a copy send me a e-mail. My address is hellandharvester@yahoo.com. You must hurry though I am getting ready to leave for the 2006 harvest run.
