Help! My 2001 F250 4x4 is not working. The display says that it's shifting into 4-wheel drive, but it's clearly not. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Miscommunication between your sensors and your transmission. I've never owned that make or model, so that is guess. But with anything made after 2000, if there's a problem of this nature, look to the electrical.
