In some conditions we've had problems, had a problem in winter wheat with a strong cross wind. When the fan was on the down wind side of the combine chaff would swirl around the fan and it was unable to clear itself, we were unable to go a half mile before warning light for air intake temp would come on. Idled the machine, chaff would fall off and temp would drop. Same problem in flax with next to no wind. I think that the fan does not have enough surface area, and creates to much suction per square inch. As long as the fan can keep itself clear the engine temp never climbs, even in 35C+
