04 8010's where the bad year. if it's had all the updates it's fine.( esp the chopper update) the difference in a 04 and 06-07 is the cone and vanes in the rotor, it feeds like a 2388. mine was changed, made a new combine out of it. I WOUlD NEVER OWN A 8010 WITHOUT CHANGING THE CONE AND CAGE TO 06 STYlE. their is a certification program for 8010's,going on right now, to be sure they are all updated and working properly. It's a great machine, now.

from what I've heard caseIH is paying for a 8 hours of testing on the cvts, hydralic and electronic systems to be sure they are up to 07 specs if not they will fix the ones under warranty and sell at reduced rate parts to fix any of the other ones. mine is still under warranty and sounds like it will get another year once it is checked over. if anyone knows anymore about it pass it on

I'm not clear on the reference to a 2388. Did the 04's feed like an 88 or the 06's.

We are waiting on the program details to arrive but you have most of it right. The extra warranty will be available at a reduced price and it is a 12 month_ 1000 hour Power Train protection plan, so it is not a full warranty. The owner will also get a certified copy of the detailed inspection report and a "Certified" decal to place in the cab window.
