Yes, the '5' series are nice w_ capitol N. 1.Helical extention is option. 2.rock door is optional selection 3.'good' depends on location. Stone protection is a very regional issue and need. Gleaner has the option as no other machine has as to foreign object protection. Small stones = trap. Big rocks and botton land overflow 'chunks' = door -ez close door option at that.

We ordered EZ close doors kit on all our 65's and 75's and with that they come with door locked in sump position. We removed brackets and closed doors in normal manner on all machines that weren't to see rocks. The one that was going to see rocks we installed our finger device that stretches over rock sump. I do not like rock sump in that it can hurt feeding in some crops and stress rear feed chain. If company wants to install sump as standard they need to design wire support to keep crop flowing over voided area and have buzzer go off every 5 or 10 hours to remind operator to empty sump. What worries me is I think the '04s will have a lighter door with standard sump and I'll have not way to close door in normal manner or install wire support over sump. Sumps will decoy problems with feeding or in cylinder for it won't pop open warning operator of problem. Many will never ever be opening and cleaned until rock goes in (ouch). Don't get me wrong for I strongly believe there is a place for sump but just not standard equipment. Operators with sump have to be darn sure to dump a time or two per day. Operators with door closed in normal manner (hopefully with hump fastened to it) can kind of forget about it until it pops open. If it pops open from normal crop it can be set up and if it pops open from poor feeding or material won't flow in rotor that should be addressed. Just my thoughts for what it's worth.
