Hi matt, I have one I have converted for a sidehill combine, but it is the same head as yours. First, raise head all the way up, and engage the head lock so you will not get crushed for any reason. Now get under and look just above the skid trays and clean out all the dirt. Do this by hand first, then get a good leaf blower and do it again. Now when it is cleaned out, just go and try it again on the middle (n2) position on the dam control. If it still won't shave like you want, get a 3_4" socket and ratchet and the same size end wrench to unlock the 5 (I think) adjuster bolts which are just under the big pipe going across the underside of the head. These adjusters may be backed clear out to raise the cutterbar. If so, you should be able to see three inches or so of threads above the bracket. Tighten these up about 20 full turns apiece. Same number of turns for each one, too.. lock the jam nuts, and go try it again. You should be able to get this head to cut so close it takes the farm with it. Clean the undertrays every day with your leaf blower and you will love this head, as they seem to feed better than the new ones. Don't know why, though.. Good luck- GS
