My 1998 2366 uses more fuel than my 1994 1644 did. Around 10gal_hr.

Combines 2166 2366 Fuel consumption

I traded a 2166 for a 2366 last year and there was a big difference in fuel consumption. I never did figure gals_hour, but the difference was there. I know the 2366 has 25 more hp, but it shocked me that the consumption was that much different.

There is a difference, and the reasons are: 1- Different fuel injection pump timing, 2- Differents injectors nozzles, 3- Differents pistons. These changes have been made to reduce emission by keeping the exhaust gas temperature higher. A friend of mine replaced nozzles and pistons with 1666's parts and re-time the fuel pump according to 1666's spec. And it work ! ( 2-3 gal per hour difference with same capacity )
