farmboy, feeder chain normally should be ok if has been properly maintained, tension set correctly and evenly side-to-side. Check drive sprockets on top shaft, take cover off on feeder house, take bar and try to lift shaft to check bearings usually replace up here at 1000 seperator hours, feeder and rocktrap bearings. Check rocktrap drive chain, spring loaded idler joke, now have a company that does away with it. looks good. Check impellar wear bars on front of rotor, wear bars should be out in front of bars them selves at tip. Rest is pretty basic check chains and belts, idler sprockets are probably rattly if have not been replaced on elevator drive chains.

HI I HAVE A 1997 2166 I REPlACED MY FEEDER CHAIN lAST YEAR I BOUGHT THE COMBINE NEW I REPlACED THE CHAIN WHEN IT HAD 900 HR. ON IT IT WAS GETING STRECHED AND I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS TIME TO CHANGE IT

Just use your judgement on the wear of the chain, rollers loose IJ, side bar pins worn IJ Its a big chain thats important plus its $ to replace. The worst that could happen is it will come apart and try to get into rotor, and you will get to pull it out with a tractor because its gets so wedged, I work at a CNH dealer, it does happen.
