Combines 2166 on side hills

Click on the Attachments topic at the left and then go to Hillco's site. They have the real hillside fix for your 2166 a combine leveler, but it will cost you about $25K. CIH sells sidehill dividers for your chaffer which will help a little. Hillco used to sell a sidehill blower system for the chaffer, but I don't think they make it anymore. It is tough to fight gravity and that is what is happening on the shoe. You just have to slow down and accept some losses or pay the price for a leveler. I have heard that the next generation of NH Twin Rotor series will have a leveling shoe option like their TX series. Cat has a 3D shoe shaker option for the lexion's to improve hillside operation and Deere has their Sidehill models. The US combine manufacturers are way over due on coming up with a reasonably inexpensive system for improving hillside combine performance. A self leveling shoe would be good enough to solve most sidehill problems.

If you are not running sidehill dividers on them front of your chaffer, install them. Also try running your rotor speed faster, it will help distribute the material more evenly. Don't think that going to a sidehill system is your only answer. I have combined beside them and done every bit of a good job as they have. Unless you are combining very steep slopes(16% slopes and higher) on a regular basis, you can do a very good job with an Axial Flow.
