Combines 2188 concaves for damp straw

The top of the concave crossbar should be 3_8" above the tops of the wires, where original distance is 1_4" to 5_16". This makes the concaves a little more aggressive for thresh and separation, and doesn't require setting as tightly, allowing more of the pieces of straw to carry past. Also, wires need to fit fairly tightly. I suspect you have some tapered wear on the wires at the front of the crossbar, as well, and this will allow straws an entrance into the openings as the wires are wiggling around in operation. There's a little more to this -- hope this is clear.

Tight wire concaves with the wires lower down are available from loewen.

Jimmy I wouldn't go for the loewen as we tried some and i had to replace them with the small wire CaseIH with every third wire removed. The loewen has th wires set lower in the bar and this seems to make the blocking problem worse. If you want to try the loewen let me know as i have a set that has only been in the machine for about 150 acres. These are for the 60 or 66 series.

Sorry, I thot you were after a lower wire concave. loewen makes them in 3 different heights, 1_4, 3_8 and 1_2 or any other height you want.
