I doubt its neccessary and i don't think it makes any difference as far the field tracker goes

I run a 25' flex and a 8 x 36" corn head. Had singles for years. They work fine but, I put duals on a couple years ago and really like the extra stability and floatation in hills and soft ground. They are very wide when traveling down the road and entering buildings. I would not have to have them to harvest every year but, I believe my 18.4 x 42 duals help avoid a lot deep compaction. I consider them worth the investment. Now if I could only bring myself to buy a JandM Storm grain cart with duals. Dave

As Dave said the combine is more stable, which means less rocking or side to side movement. Therefore the field tracker will have to work less. Duals are better in the field, but more troublesome on the road. I run a 2388(singles) with 30' 1020 head and it does fine.

So do you have the wheels dished outIJ Do you have the six inch spacers onIJ I may have the spacers and driveshaft for a 2188, if you do not, and would sell. I was on wide rows also when the 21's come out. Whole lot easier to change the concaves with the extra room, another bonus.
