Combines 2188 Electric Reverser

I think what you're describing is starter is staying engage in flywheel for a few seconds, I spray wd-40 into starter drive to clean and lubricate shaft and bendix. also blow out dust first with air compressor. also causes starter to not engage in flywheel sometimes, too. Ted CenOH

Soyman, You may already know that the electric reverser is just a diesel engine electric starter and it works the same way an electric starter works. Sometimes the starter gear doesn't dissingage completely. If you run your feeder very long that way you've just ruined your reverser. K.A.

thanks I kinda knew that that was the problem. Is it worth the money to put the new hyd reverser in or get a new started if it goes out.

I thought about that too. BUT when I priced the hyd reverser I can buy a lot of starters. I never had the starter fail yet. I'll wait til I buy new combine to get hyd reverser.Too expensive.
