Combines 2188 unload auger broke

I had the shaft no the top of the gear box break on the one i had.

Ten to one the little shaft that drives the back half of the auger broke. Take a large pipe wrench and auger the grain out by hand and then you can handle the back half of the auger by standing on top of a truck box. When the back half stopped turning it most likely folded down the flighting on the front half of the auger. Take heart though the new updated shaft that case will sell you won't break. At least they never have for me.

I should further qualify my problem to include that the complete horizontal auger is not turning from the gearbox and back.

If the vertical shaft is turning and none of the horizontal ones then you have a failure of the angle gear box in the elbow (where the unloader pivots)
