Don't know if I'm to late, JD heads will go 22" with little effort. Standard unit will go 20". Four row narrow will go 6_22.

I tried it again and it worked ok for me by copying the link and pasting it into the address bar in IE. Try this link and see if it helps

I converted a 830 Hugger to 822. We bought jobber plastic snouts. Did mostly on free evenings but would estimate that 40 hours to be close. Planning ahead far enough to only cut or drill once was the biggest challange. I wouldn't even think twice about turning down a job to narrow up earlier head for the drives could end up a nightmare. Good luck.

I am the guy that posted with the 22" row axle extensions for sale. I still have them. Never got a reply when I posted earlier. They are 11" extensions for each side. And they fit 62-72 with 5 bolts to the final drive 1997 and prior. 1998 and newer have 6 bolts and that is why I have them for sale. I had to buy new ones when I traded in 2002. With 11" each wheel is then dished 11" in and 11" out, works perfect. I bought them from Keltgen and Kirchner Tall Tires. Olivia MN. New ones are $1750 per set. I want $850 for mine. Call me at 320-523-1099 or e-mail rterstee@tds.net. Ron

If I recall there was some discussion on this some time ago and you may have to use the 800 series cornhead gearboxes. In Worthington MN the tractor shop has a kit that you can change out the drive shaft and sprocket for the gathering chains to get rid of the roll pin_bolt sprocket. JWK
