No weight was needed for my 2166. I went from a 963 to a 2206 and it was fine but I traded for a drago last year and it too was fine w_o weights

How did the 2206 compare with the 963, and why the switch to the DragoIJ I'm running a 1063 and going to need to upgrade at some point and I'm still a little leary of the 2200's.

I went to the 2206 becausse my 963 was 14 years old at the time, and I thought I would like they hydro stripper plates. as I said I have a 2166 and when father ran it in corn he rested his fingers in the button for the stripper plate adj. and everytime I got in they were wide open, and got tire of unhooking. lost a lot of corn some days. Also the gear box was always hot as hell. I complained from day one and everyone said it was O.K. well I finally put one of those laser temperature things on it and even after changing to systhetic grease it was running 185 degrees. I think thats way too hot, and was afraid of taking out seals. It made no diff. if in hi or low speed still HOT. I like the drago spring loaded strippers, was able to trade for $12,000.00 6 row for 6 row after 5IJ years( mine was a first year out 2206) dealer was a new drago dealer so wanted to get some out in area. and didn't get the cutting blades but am happy with it. will have to switch to an 8 row in a couple years because of more corn acres but will definitly be a drago. Around here a 1063 is going for scrap price so you might think about skipping that step if you have alot af corn acres the drago would pay for itself.
