Combines 2208 Corn Head

my 2206 gearbox was too hot to touch this year but I was running in hi speed. last year I ran in slower speed w_ no problem. dealer said he knew of no trouble w_ these but I don't know anyone else running a 6 row and the 8 rows drive from both sides where the 6 row only drives all from one side. Did any one else notice this problemIJ

Just ordered a 2208 for my 2366 wondered if you had any trouble with feeding the cobs into the feederhouseIJ I have heard rumours of these 22's not feeding as good as the 1000'sIJ

Feeding is a problem. It boils up in front of the feederhouse. Capacity is not a problem as it will go in if pushed. Just to try that we ran 5.5 for a few hundred feet and it took it. The factory is supposed to have an attachment that raises the head a few inches in relationship to the feeder. In testing that took care of the problem.

When you think about the 1000 series the corn has to drop down a little before the feeder chain takes it. JWK

TERRIAN TRACER is called field tracker by case ih.You will like it if you have rolling hills.If not, you are waisting your money. Hyd. deck plates is a option. A costly one. My local dealer has yet sold a head with out hyd. plats because the customers like it. GOOD lUCK!

if you get one with hyd. strippers. you will never get another one without it. without it you can feed the pheasants good. you can set it as tight as you can and still not plug with stalks.nice feature.very little corn on the ground. nh. has had it for years on same unit.

I agree, we adjust ours all the time. Plus I figure if you ever trade the head it will add value.
