I have a 2366 right now but before this i had a 97 2166.Back then my freind bought a 2344 in 98 and that year he was behind in his work so i ran with him side by side. The only place we noticed a differance was in mud or on hills.Would make a good second machine. Rodney

Ripped instead of getting a second machine why not get a 2188IJ You have the grain buggy which is as good as the second machine just go to a bigger flex head. It would be cheaper for you then you dont have to hire another operater, and being in the area that we are it's very hard to find good combine drivers that know what there doing in the best of conditions let along crop conditions that we had this fall.

Hey,Ryan how are you doingIJ I already run a 25' flex head and I agree that a second operator is a real problem. I find that everybody wants to drive the combine but there are not many that can operate the machine with a little responsibility which in turn cost me money in the end. The only reason that I don't really want to go to an '88 series machine is that you still can only service one customer at a time. We don't have many large acreage fields were you run a 2188 without spending too much time changing heads. I'm currently dealing with another custom operator that wants to get out of the business who has a lot of small high moisture silos to fill. I think for the investment a good used 2344 or 2366 would work great type of work. How do you like running the 9650 and 9510IJ Would you rather just run a {8010} sorry I mean a 9750 insteadIJ I don't really like to turn down this oppurtunity but a second machine is taking a big step I feel anyways! Hope to hear from you again! SEE-YA, NEIl DB

Things aren't bad we finished on Saturday afternoon, and now just doing some field work. I see your point on a second machine for the smaller fields. How many acres though are you combining is the biggest factorIJ I know you had said earlier this fall you were putting through about 1500 acres give or take a fewIJ This year my 9650 sts ran pretty much non stop and did almost all of the work the 9500 is just a back up for years like this. I wouldn't go to an 8010 or a 9760 sts just because my customers wont allow a 12 row corn head and 30 flex in wheat. If your going to go to a second machine then your wanting to get a second grain buggy if ur not going to run the two combines in the same field. As well you want to be running atleast 5000 acres of crop to justify having two machines. As you know when it comes to conditions and custom work in our area that just means more head aches having a second machine when one will do but it just needs to be operated around the clock. Thats just what I have found out I am lucky I have another guy who is a good combine operator and looks after things very well. Thats just my two cents.

You're right with the second buggy and additional operators which is just asking for more headaches. The employees soon eat up a good chunk of cash. This other company that I'm talking about harvest approx. 1500-2000 acres. This would hardly justify a second 2366 but is yet too much to do all with one machine which would be over and above the work that I already have for my 2166. It's something that I need to really think long and hard about. You still have Tom running your 9650IJ He seems to be a good operator. I seen him running the chopper for Roos and he seems to watch everything. If you don't run your 9500 how can you justify having it as a backup machineIJ Would it not be easier renting a combine for a few days if you get in a real pinchIJ I don't know I'm no exspert but just giving my thoughts! The second machine would really come in handy when switching from beans_high moisture corn or Ip beans_RR beans. You always have some customers that need to be a week or two earlier than anyone else in the area. Anyways I got to get going still need to do some chores. If I don't hear from you SEASONS GREETINGS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR. The De Boer Family.

And really if you get that much more acres to do then you're going to be in your truck not the combine, especially in the fall. I found that out fast I was able to do the wheat and beans but corn not a chance. It's just something else that you may or may not of thought about. Actually the 9500 is my uncles and I rent it when its needed. True the second machine is handy for that but I personally managed I had my beans off before I started corn. Makes life so much easier. Corn is my biggest crop I don't do that many acres of beans maybe 1250 or so. If you don't mind me asking where or who is the operator, don't worry I'm not going to go after those acres. Anyways personally you best bet Neal is goto a 2388 with an 8 row and keep the 25 ft flex you can easily put 3500 to 4000 acres through one..
