You may want to check on the side of the throat there is an adjustment for raising and lowering the drum. Make sure it is in the middle notch and also raise the stone retarder up at least one positon from fully down. It may help, no guarantee's.

Check that the feeder chain is as far forward as the operators manual suggests you may have to install a half link in the feeder chain. I have also heard of too slow rotor speed causing this as the rotor is not taking the material away from the top of the feeder properly. Another thought those auger flight extensions have been useful on a few occasions particularly where there is little crop volume.

Had some of the same problems w_2388. Just bought machine used. Get out your book and check clearance of auger on bottom and on back. Both can be adjusted. Check to see if fingers are timed proper. At 10'oclock fingers should be fully retracted. Push paddles of rock trap clear up. Check all vanes and positions.

I had the same problem with my 2366 and 1020. A big problem in the 44's and 66's, bigger than I first realised until I fitted a modification made by my neighbour. He is selling a replacement front drum for the feeder house that eliminates the problem that you are refering to. I have developed a positive feed drum to solve the problem of poor feeding and repeating at the front, it replaces the round drum that the elevator chain runs on, it works as a beater to push crop material under the chain.
