Combines 2366 corn problems

I had a similar problem on our 2366. I opened the concaves to about 6.5 and slowed the rotor to 300 and that helped quite a bit. I would think that closing the concave to 2.5 would make the problem much worse. Slow rotor, wide concave and bottom sieve all the way open is the way to go in corn with an Axial Flow.

I haven't tried any corn this year but that is about the moisture we had last year. We normally run the concave around 3 and the rotor 260-320 depending on how easy the corn is shelling. I run the lower sieve wide open the fan 1100+ and use the top seive to clean the sample. You might also try driving faster. With the 8 row head make sure you put the clean grain elevator in high range. We were running last year 5-7 mph in that same volume and moisture corn with a 6 row head. Best of luck with the rest of your harvest.

A wide concave will sometimes give the cobs to much room and they will start to tumble in there and break into smaller pieces and that could be what the stalks are doing in a way also. I run my 2366 with concave set at 3-4, fan 1100 and up, 300-500 on rotor the slower the better most of the time, I only run a wide open seive in high moisture going directly to a feedlot. In all other corn I set the seive at 5_8" open and the top chaffer slightly less. Keep the combine full I run at 5 mph with a six row head. No load rpm around 2410-2420 while picking around 2360 rpm. One other thing not to over look is your corn head and if you can change any settings on it to reduce the amount of stalk coming in. I run a green head with hyd. deck plates and moving them in and out will change how much corn plant is coming into the machine.
