I have a Magnum doing the same thing. I was told that the alternater needs to be adjusted to a different angle so that it runs in line with the fan pulley. I am not sure if you can get a updated mounting bracket or what you have to do. Run this by your service manager and let me know if this works

I had that happen on a magnum, no one could figure it out, changed the tensioner and idler as suggested by the dealer. After a year replacing belts, we finally replaced the crankshaft pulley, that stopped the belt eating. Now we just replace the belt during winter service.

Got a friend that's a Cummins mechanic, says it is fairly common. As long as the belt doesn't completly shred,he says to run it.I have a 5.9 engine that does the same thing, about 2 ribs of the belt, everything lines up.
