Combines 2366 or 8780

In my experience with these two brands the 8780 has a little more capacity than a 2388.If you push both of them along side of each other the sample in the 8780 will not change but in the 2388 the sample will get very dirty and loose more over the sieve.I have never been around a 2366 so I don't know how much smaller they are in relation to the 8780.The 8780 is very simple to operate and maintain and has proven to be a very dependable machine. For a few bucks you could update it to be a 8780XP.

I went from a 2366 to a 8780XP and the 8780 has a lot more capacity. My first experience with a Massey machine, but I am happy with it.

I think what Guy said about capacity is right on. I have a 8780xp and am very happy with it.It is easy to set, does a great job and I have had few problems.

I'm not knockiing a 2366 but go with an 8780. More capacity and less maintance. There are a lot of 2366's around here and people like them but to me the massey rotory is the best kept secret in town.If the 8780 were green the country would be full of them.after having one for 3 years I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the reply guys. What does someone expect to pay for a newer 8780IJ Will it be a little more than a 2366 since it has more capacityIJ

Have any of you that have an 8780xp changed the front beater from the paddle and spike to the 9000 series, the one with the flighting typeIJ did you put in the whole drum new or did you put the kit inIJ the kit is a lot cheaper but if you go with the kit did you have to rebalance the beaterIJlast year we had a condition where the corn cobs were soft and they broke easy and that paddle and spike beater is very aggresive and had trouble with bits of cobs plugging the sieves. have been told that the new style is better.

I would put the whole new beater in. Reason, they have updated it with gussets to help brace the flighting. They had some problems with fightings breaking without the gussets. Mine is out right now getting the gussets welded on.

I think the XP came with the newer style beater. I know on the 8780 that we rented had the updated one. I think that a 8780 and especially a XP would outdo a 2388. They are basically the same size machine, the only differenc being that the Massey has a better feeding system. Anyway, we leased that old 8780 again last year and bought a 9790 too.
