Combines 2366 rotor belt jumping out of adjustment

good possiblity that your spring in the torque senor needs changing.

the grease fitting on the rotor driven pully needs to be greased every 10 hrs with a lithium base grease..your outer rotor outer half is not sliding on the shaft..letting the belt get loose.

Thanks for the input but I don't think that is the problem. For one, the combine is greased daily according to the recomendations, including the 3 grease zerks on the rotor. Secondly, the problem is the sheive is moving when it shouldn't be. The problem occurs while the combine is under load harvesting, not while adjusting rotor speed.

I talked to our CIH service manager this morning and he also is of the opinion that it is the spring also. I have owned AF combines since 1983 and this is the first time I have had this problem. Evidently it is not a totally uncommon problen as he told me they had a spring in stock and would have a man right down only to call back a couple minutes later and say it was sold over the weekend. They were to get one in this afternoon and put it on in the a.m.. In the mean time he recommended to run the gearbox on the low side with the rotor speeded all the way up as this would put the spring in it's most compressed position. We cut about 75 acres this afternoon this way and never had the problem reoccur. Thanks, boog

I agree with IH combine man. Sheave isnt coming back when it spreads. Either grease isnt getting there or bushings are bad letting the sheave not come back tight. The sheave spreads for a reason wheather it be a slug going thru or what. It happens so fast you never know it. But if it doesnt come back there is usually a problem in the sheave halves
