I read some of your old comments after I posted this message. Has anyone heard anything new latelyIJ We have since developed a turbo charger problem probably related to this air cleaner problem.

From what I have seen the conversion kit would make the problem worse. There is more dust around the rotoscreen intake than there is around the air filter intake, so pulling air from the rad compartment for the air filter would make it worse. I saw a 2188 with an intake mounted right of the cab with a long flex pipe back to the filter. looked dumb but might help. I have considered putting a long extension straight up from the intake to get out of the dust, but haven't figured out how to hinge it to get in the shed. I think the engineers need to put the air intake for the rad and filter back along the right side where it used to be. There is less dust there. With a speciality rotor and chopper and spreaders there is a lot of dust swirling around the rear end that ends up plugging the rad and filter. Sorry I don't have any answers, I haven't found it yet.

Don't have a Case-IH but have experienced some of the same with an R-72. Have heard of guys using duct tape to cover the little "swirly" things in the aspirator to increase the velocity of the air that is traveling through aspirator. I guess they just keeping plugging additional swirly's till it works. We are going to give a try if bean dust gives us trouble. Wonder why all these new combines seem to have this problem. We never once plugged an air filter on our N-5. I've heard of many Case-IH's and JD STS's having this problem too. One guy told me he can't make it a day with his STS...has to carry spare filter at all times.
