Case IH 2388 2003 model. Not a retrofit. It is being wrapped around the table auger. It appears as though it is not being picked up by the feed elevator. Harvesting wheat[18 bags_acre]. Also barley. Have tried new rotor belt, tightened adjustment on main drive belt and also taken paint stripper to the table auger. Thanks for answering, I welcome any suggestions, it is driving me to despair.

Check clearance of front drum on feed elevator, too low, won't allow stuff to go under, too high won't grab it, also fore and aft adjustment on the same drum chain, should just about hit retractable fingers. It is a three chain IJIJ There are aftermarket drums that feed a little better, these are triangular opposed to being round.

I've had this problem in soybeans with my 1020. Put the long auger flight extension on it and it will not back feed any more. would like to discuss this further Thanks

Check you operators manual for correct feeder conveyor chain adjustment and clearance at the front. Also check the header auger and fingers for proper adjustment. If the grain is short auger flight extensions are recommended. Getting things shined up will help too.

Does the table auger float up and down properlyIJ If it is seized in 1 position, you will experience such problems. Are the stripper plates adjusted properly on the headerIJ Ar the retractable fingers properly adjustedIJ Is the crop real poor, or lodgedIJ Can you tilt the face plate on the front of the feeder houseIJ If so, try tilting it fully forward, this will change the angle between the front of the feeder house and the table auger. Do you have the factory feeder chain in the combine with regular serrated edgeIJ

Farmertony, The advice on auger flight extensions was successful. In our experience we would NOW recommend it as standard equipment [In Australia atleast]. Your recommendation has spurred dealer response. Thankyou very much, Sal.

NEIGBOR HAD SAME PROBlEM WITH BACKFEED ON FEEDER CHAIN CHANGED BACK TO TWO CHAIN ROllER FROM A THREE CHAIN, AS FAR AS THE TABlE AURGER ON THE 1010 HEADER IN WET and DOWN RICE WE DISCONECTED THE AURGER FlOAT ARMS AN BOlTED THEM DOWM TO THE SIDE WAll OF THE HEADER THEY HAVE A TENDENCY TO lET HEAVY STRAW GET UNDER THEM, HAVE PUCHASED A DRAPER HEADER SINCE WORKS VERY WEll
