How's the flighting on your bubble up augerIJ On our 2188 it was worn and caused the clutch to slip when it got near full.

That and really you need a extra auger in the hopper weve fought this problem alot last year for some odd reason so far knock on wood the one 2388 without the extra auger is working fine... also take off the slip clutch and clean out all the grease do not grease it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure the washer is large enough so the spacer that is inside the spring goes down inside the washer and just the spring sits on the washer.

We have a 2388 that has the Mauer extension plus the 6" tiptop on top of that. Holds around 320 bu corn. It also has a hyd powered bubbleup auher in the tank. This is our 2nd year running it and so far have not slipped the clutch. You're asking the fountain auger to push a lot of grain up to fill the extension. As pressure increases you are backing corn up against the elevator causing the slip clutch to slip. The bubbleup auger eliminates that problem by taking a lot of the load off the fountain auger . Money well spent IMO.
