Combines 2388 header raise problem

Are combine has done something close to that. I just had to recalibrate the corner post. I think you had hold the engine, and mph buttons on the coner post when you started the combine. The actual instuctions for this are in section 5,or 6 in the operators mantual somwhere.

We had the same thing happen with our '03 2388 and ended up putting on a new potentiometer on the left side (sitting in the cab) of the feeder house. Pro Harvest ran us through all the post calibration stuff but it was the pot in the end, and it hasn't missed a beat since. Al

I recalibrated it and it worked. I wonder why it lost its calibrationIJ Thanks for the help

My guess is that the arm that connects to the linkage back to the combine slipped on the shaft from the pot causing the signal voltage back to the controller to get out of range. Recalibration let the controller learn the new range. You may get to the point that recalibration will not solve the problem. At that point you will need to replace the pot assembly and recalibrate with the new one. You may also have to perform a ground calibration. To do this attach the header then lower the head completely to the ground and continue to hold the down button for a couple of seconds until the header height display resets to a 2 for a rigid or flex head or a 4 on a corn head. You are good to go again.
