i presume you are talking about going down the road. you should never use 3 in the field. always use a gear that the propulsion lever is as far forward as posssible or it will heat. does it squeal at all. that is called plate liftoff and will heat and damage internal parts. you should also have drive prssure checked. a lot of hydros are a little weak to start with.on pressure.
