I added a 2388 to the 7720 that we already had this year. The 2388 is DEFINITElY easier to work on. I looked at a 9650 STS that the dealer had tore apart to replace the rotor because something came apart and tore it all up. There is a lOT more to go through when you work on a Deere. More belts, shafts etc... They work great around here, but I would hate to have to keep one running after a couple thousand hours. As for my 2388, I run a JD 843 corn head with a Bish adaptor with no problems. I put a Maurer Big Top on it but not the extinsions so I can carry about 300 bushels. Seems pretty heavy with the big corn head. Just so you know, every tractor, my swather and telehandler are all green, but when I compared combines, I wanted the Case because they are much more versatile and simple.

I know of a custum cuter that went from 9600 to jd roters and hated them hated to work on lot of problems the case ih roters are very easy to work on so are the cat challenger combines at least in Montana though very very poor dealers I was going to buy a cat 670 challenger tell the chief mechanic said he wasn't going to send any of his mech to the challenger combine school. each dealer network is different go ask you local dealers what parts they have in stock and if you do need help how long tell they can have a qualified mech come out.
