Thanks.......I may try that. We got back in some slick mud today and I backed up in the slickest mud, pushed on the brakes and eased the stick back........then forward. The rears slipped a little then seemed to grab. I think they are working, it's just hard to tell for sure. They seem to spin when I brake on turns too.

Sounds like its working to me. They won't spin like a MFD tractor. I can really feel ours working when turning in the mud. Without it, the combine wants to keep pushing forward. With it, lock one brake and the rear just pulls itself around.

Have had instances when the internal seals, orings, and diaphragms are blown in the mud hog motor itself. Have rebuilt several in the 2188 and 2388's.

We have 2004 2388 with 18.4X 42 duals 18.4X 26 on mud hog.In mud with 30' header or 8 row corn, standing off to the side you can tell rear tires are slipping more than front tires.

My 2388 does the same thing with 28.8-38 duals weak hydro system!
