The 2388 is a 2004 model, with the improved side mounted screen. It doesn't have the wrapping problem earlier ones had, but this is like a fine bean dust that gets through the screen and plugs up things behind. There were originally wiper bars on the screen, but they seemed to make the brush "flap" back onto the screen, and we had a hole in the screen just behind the wiper bar after a short time. We're running without the bars now, if that makes any difference.
