Are you getting 12 volt power to the separator somehow to engage it even with the switch offIJ Do you have a 12 volt test lightIJ Turn the key on in the cab (don't start it)and check to see if you are getting power to the off side of the switch. If this is not the case, a wild guess is that somehow you are getting power to the ground side of the switch or pto and activating the pto. I'll think on it some more and maybe get back.

MSdelta, I'd try disconnecting the PTO valve coil (elec connect). If PTO still turns then the problem is in the valve (stuck open) or the clutch pack. To test to see if the coil is working use a screwdriver and see if it sticks to the top of the coil (magnetized) when PTO is turning. It should if it's energized by 12V. THe error message could be caused by the computer sensing shaft rotation before the computer runs self checks at start-up. Also there are a number of diodes (electric check valves) that if defective may run voltage "backward".

I have checked the PTO valve coil, and it seems to be recieving power all the time. You can turn off the key and the seperator will come out of gear, as soon as you turn on the key it kicks in. Switch in the cab is working the way it should though. I am somehow getting a supply of power to the PTO coil even with the switch off. I wound up straight wiring the feeder yesterday just so I could finish out the day, I have to figure this out though cause as soon as you crank up everything comes on!! Not the safest thing in the world, but with a hurricane, AND a tropical storm in the gulf you gotta do what ya gotta do. Thanks for the help.

MSdelta, locate the relay that supplies current to the PTO valve. It's located under the right armrest under the gray cover. The layout of fuses and relays is shown on the back of the cover. I have seen relays stick contacts (weld) to each other. The relays are the same and you can swap them around. Good luck.

Another good tool to have when working on a 2100 or 2300 combine is a multimeter, in order to check for proper resistance levels and voltage levels as outlined in the service manual.
