Combines 2900 engine

Abileene machine, Abileene Ks should have reman engines. I just had mine rebuilt. About 6500.00 dollars. A lot of macine work was done, shaved head on three sides, decked top of block and rebored and sleeved jug seats. about 1100.00 in machine work and 1157.00 oilpump was about 1_3 the bill. Also had injector pump and injectors rebuilt 850.00 If you find a reman engine between 4 to 5 grand with exchange may not be a bad deal. If you get water in you oil check the o-rings at the bottom of the cylinder jugs, 4 out of 6 of mine were pitted and required the machining and sleeve work done. Just FYI information. There should be several other rebuilders in you area. These were popular engines. Good luck

I replaced my M2 2900 engine with a 5.9 cummins from New Equipment Company 52579 College line rr4 Aylmer Ont. Canada N5H 2R3 519 773 5467 I lifted old engine in its frame off combine with a backhoe andtook to him. He installed new engine in my frame. 5.9 is 3in shorter than 2900 so needs stub shafton front crank pulley to drive hyd. pump. Also fan spacer to clear hyd. belt. spacer is avaible from CIH as it is used on their tractors with 5.9 cummins. This was a new engine with waranty and 160 hp @ 2500 rpm. Satisfied so far.
