unless you are in rice or some other high volume crop I would use the double chain feeder the main reason we use the triple chain is the feeder bars bend on the double chain because thier longer but sometimes the triples will bend too the serrated bars are better but just how much would depend on crop and price it's your call good luck!!!!!!

Aftermarket chains like the ones Abilene or Worthington Ag Parts supply use USA made roller chain, and are likely identical to CASEIHC and at a much better price, 2 or 3 chain, serrated or smooth.

The 2 strand feed better. If you are worried about strength, take your old chain and cut some of the slats off of it. Then, weld pieces of slat in the middle of the drum behind where the slats run to support them in the middle. All the strength of a 3 chain with the better feeding of the 2 chain and cheaper to boot!
