Combines 30 5 Duals for R62

If you can live with minimal clearance between the tires you might be able to cheat there, but I would suspect that it will end up breaking the inner rim or maybe the final drive. I've seen a JD 4WD tractor with dual 30.5's and it looked HUGE. Unfortunately, combines are so heavy that it really isn't feasible. The largest sucessful duals I know of on a combine are 710_70-38's. I would suggest talking to John at Wold Rim and Wheels 1-800-443-9653.

1ST. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE HEAVY DUTY FINAlS. 2ND. YOU WIll GET MORE STABIlITY. 3RD. AlOT OF PEOPlE FORGET THEY HAVE TO BUY THE lADDER EXTENSION KIT WHICH IS ANY WHERE FROM $1100 TO 1600. 4TH. I WENT FROM 30.5'S TO 18.4X42, lIKE THEM BETTER. I HAVE THE DUAlS, SPACERS, EYES, RODS. I NEVER HAD PROBlEMS WITH RIMS CRACKING. THE 18.4X38'S WON'T STAND AS TAll BUT THEY DID HElP. TOM

Use 18.4x38 or 20.8x38 duals you sound like you would like to save money, well think about running a post through your 30.5 at $1500. or through a 18.4x38 for only $650 .. Why have $6000 to replace all your tires when you can have $2600 do the same job. Resale value will go down for non-standard duals too. The leverage on the rim and final drive bearings would be huge like a 3ft cheater bar!!!!! rdjohnsonfarm@juno.com

Did you go to 18.4-42 factory duals when you traded combinesIJ Or did you trade your 30.5-32 tires for 18.4-42 dualsIJ If so, where would I be able to do that and how much did that cost. Thanks Pete

I do not know if it the duals would work on a N6, but one of my local dealers had sold a few R62's with 18.4 duals and 6 row 30" heads. I did not see myself, but I imagine it would be very tight to the next row. This could be a problem in down Corn. Pete
