Before we got our 2188 we had a 1688 that we ran with a 30ft head. The 1688 is about the size of a 2166_2366 maybe even smaller. We had no problems running it and thought it was great. We recomend duals for stability.
Just bought a new one and the dealer put on some extra pushers for auger. He says this is better and run about 100 bucks. I have not seen it yet, but he wants them on else to much fodder at edges and not enough in center. I took his word as he has more out that way.
Yes, that is what I understand. Without them on the auger, the feeder house on 2366, being narrower then a 2388, it would not get enough of the fodder to the center. Sorry it took me so long, I have not been at this site for awhile.
Thanks for the info joclarhy. I take it that you are going to run soybeans with this machine. I'd like for you to let me know your dealer so that I could visit with him or one of his customers to see how things are working for them. I really don't need all the capacity of an 88' but i would sure like to take 30 ft of beans to stay on matched rows.
