Combines 300 series head

I run a 320 head on a R50 Just started today. I put on a 2" PVC pipe, cut in 2 foot lengths. I used conduit clamps from the hadware store, using the guard bolts. Total cost was 20 clamps at 35 cents each. The pipe was used milker line cost 0. It worked great no lumps going in. What a change!

Thanks for the idea I have some 1 1_2in pvc that I can use I'm sure it will work the same. I have the flat feather sheets so would I mount it right behind the cutter bar on the feather sheetsIJ Thanks for the advice

I was rereading your response and realized that you said that you mounted them on the guard bolts. On my header there is no room to mount them on the guard bolts because it interfers with opening of the feather sheets. Do I mount them that way anywaysIJ Thanks in advance,

Yes use the guard bolts the pipe will sit right on the front of the feather sheets. I also cut the pipe in 2 foot sections so the head would still flex worked veey well.

Good idea I went and bought the clamps today I know I I'll need something and I already have the pvc pipe and the clamps only set me back 5 bucks you can't beat that. Curt

Read my 300 series head question and response down on the page farther. If you don't find it respond again and I'll tell you the cheapest quickest way to get the problem solved. I won't take the credit for the idea though, but I'll give the advice you need. I have bought a twenty foot section of pvc or something similar at the hardware store for around $4.00 or you could use suction hose like it the tip section, under upgrades to header. Curt
