I did not look at it yet. He said it was always stored inside, and that it is field ready. He also said he did some brazing on the tin, so it may be junk. Anyone know why the tin cracksIJ

You really have to know what is cracked. Is it a frame memberIJ Is it sheet metalIJ Are the row units ready to fall offIJ I put several thousand acres on a black corn head and never had to do welding or brazing on it. There were no cracks anywhere. Keep your eyes open, but even a junk head is worth the price you are quoting.

We picked up a 430 orange head that was always in the shed and it looked like it did when it was new for 100 dollers.

Same thing here in southern VA if its in good shape. Especially since its a black belly head and 30" row spacing.
