Combines 438A Corn Head

You can move an A438 down to 36" row centers. It can be a nasty, time consuming job. All row units must come off and be slid in, outside units come in 3" each, all the sheet metal has to be reset. We did one, it took 2 of us 3 days. And lots of new hardware. If I was doing it again I would not bother trying to unbolt things, I would just "blue flame wrench" them apart. That would make for a considerable time savings.

They go down to 36 inches. Take all the top sheet metal off and narrow it.Set the head on cement and start in the center first.If every thing comes loose the only hardware you need are 2 shorter shaft couplers.Did mine by myself in 1 day.
