Check your drive belts. We had a 4420 that had about the same problem. We replaced the three belts on the bottom then the main belt that runs off the primary counter-shaft.

If all the pined links have been used to take up slack in th e feeder house chain change the feeder house chain. It may look o k but a new one will make a new machine of it.

Check your feederhouse chain speed. On the right hand side of the feederhouse there are 2 sprockets at on the lower shaft. If using a grain head and the drive chain is on the small sprocket then the feederhouse chain is driving to slowly. Your supposed to slide the sprockets over to the slow speed one when using the corn head since you either change the large left hand chain to the high speed or with a variable speed feederhouse you run the belts to the high speed with the corn head but must always return the left side drive to the low speed for a grain platform. If the feederhouse chain is driving to slow then you will have it plug up and the slip clutch will slip anytime you try to cut at a decent speed. Most people move the right side chain to the large sprocket(high speed) and just leave it there all the time.

If it's wraping the top shaft you probably need new rasp bars and_or the front of your concave is worn or bowed.
