My earliest book is on 4425, should be similar. 125 bu. 1.5_sec. 359cu. in. 117 hp 79.2 gal. I would say about 2.5 mph. and this is possibly a different engine, not sure. sorry dont have better info. for you.

From JD brochure the specs on 4420 are as follows. 38" cylinder. 4559 sq" walker area. 3357 sq" cleaning area. Engines could be 329 or 359, both non-turbo, depending on year. Both were rated right at 100 hp. Grain tank holds 102 bu w_ factory extension. Fuel tank cap 45 gal. Unload rate is called .8bu_sec which equals 127 seconds to empty tank under ideal conditions. No hydrostatic drive available. Those are the facts. How fast can you travel with 4x30 cornheadIJ How hard you want to pushIJ What loss level is acceptableIJ What are crop and moisture conditionsIJ That's for you to answer. As for me, I've got to have every last kernel, travel speed is not the first consideration.

Thanks for the reply - it helps alot. I want to see as little as reasonable on the ground and was hoping for that 2.5 to 3 mph range but was wondering if 3 was a bit optomistic. I am looking at running 2-300ac through the machine_yr but won't have alot of time due to my main job. The thought being a 4420 is maybe a $3000IJ lower investment then a 6620 of comapareable hrs_shape and I would run it 3-5 years, then move up to a late 7720 or early 9500 and jump to a 8RN head to speed harvest. The only other question is were there any quirks about the 44's to watch for other then the normal wear points like on a 66 or 77IJ Thanks again.

Make sure the main drive belts under the seat and the ones on the right side are in good shape. Otherwise you push it a little and its plugged especially in beans. Good cylinder bars are a must too. Also start up the thresher and run it full throttle, if you feel a vibration like under the seat or the muffler seems to be shaking a lot the primary countershaft under there is probably bent. This is a big pain to replace but needs to be done. Metal fatigue is bad also, around the cleaning shoe on the sides where the pins that hold the door closed for the lower adjustments. The cab is probably the worst you can come across. The dust that gets in is terrible, its not to far from just sitting outside in the open itself. Before you make the mistake of buying one of these cheap built unengineered pieces of junk, go for a late model NEW HOllAND TR86 87 88. You will have all the capacity you need, a lot more features such as twin rotor threshing, terrain tracer, durable Ford diesel engines. You'll have a bigger combine that is for more advanced with a lot better cab than any 6620 of 7720 titan or not.
