your rate of raise and lower should be 8 seconds each way. you can also crack open the accumulater to let it float more. good luck

That would be my advice as well. If your raise_lower rate is too fast, it will cause your cutterbar to bounce and trigger the AHH. Tom langan

The more you open the accumulator the more hunting it will do.

Have never turned accumulator off since '82 N5. I think header works better in our very rolling ground allowing the extra "float".

yes it does sound like your header raise, and or lower rate it too fast, mine bounced when it raised until i slowed it down. i set mine a little faster than the reccomended 8 seconds so i could lift over rocks a little faster, but just slow enouf to keep it from bouncing. can someone explain how the accumulator works and what it does. have an '82 n7. thanks chad

like the others have said, it's probably the raise and lower rate. I remember when I first got my R42 and put the grain header on it was bouncing around like a jumping bean. Slowed the rate down to the 8 seconds and worked fine. Still has time to react for rocks if you see them in time. I have also ran with the accumulator about 1_3 open and it worked fine. This year I ran with it closed and it worked O.K.

the acumulater is like a spring, it takes the shock out when the auto header reacts try it valve only 1 quarter on very smooth responce
