Combines 540 550

ok jeff, 540s were made 78-81,about 2900 made. 550s were made 78-88, little more than 6700 made. 15ft. would be max on a 540,as back end can`t handle that much straw,preferably 13ft.in good soybeans. 550s will take 18ft. in good beans,20ft. in wheat,no speed demon though in wheat.

I have run a 540 for 15 years in southern Ont. (60-85 bus wheat, 30-50- bus soya's) with a 13.5 foot head and I would'nt want anything bigger.

I just bought one a while ago with a 13' rigid head and 4 row corn head. perfect condition except very dirty on the outside but a little pressure washin will make it look like new. Jeff
