If Your has the slow down kit. There should be a double pulley just above the chopper. To slow down the chopper, you move the drive belt that comes from the front, to the large diameter pulley, and you should also have a short belt that goes from the smaller (inner) pulley, to the pulley on the chopper. And yes it does save the machine with the chopper slowed down.There won't so much beatimg up or the rear hood. Joe

So in other words, it looks like I'm already set up for corn and should have put the long main drive belt on the smaller pulley for chopping soybean stalks. I thought the stalks were a bit long, but figured they were just somewhat green and tough so didn't chop up so fine..Thanks...lee

Yes The long main belt goes right on the chopper pulley for straw. and soybeans. The double pulley is only used to slowdown for corn. You also have a set of stationary knives in the bottom of the chopper, that you can adjust to do a finer chop on the straw. These should be moved out for corn. Have a good harvest Joe
