Combines 590R in the field

Farmertony, I knew the 590R would give you "shock+awe"!!!! We had the first Claas 570 lexion in the UK last year and where really impressed by its capacity in our tough heavy straw crops. We would have taken a 580 (biggest available in Europe with 512hp using the power bulge!!) but our road network here in Northern Ireland in too narrow for moving between jobs as our agri contractor neighbours found out the hard way as they now have to move their NH CX840 at 4am!!! I will never forget being one of 12 JD STS's driving down your roads in OK one Sun in 2002 all with our 36D's and 30F's still attached,an unbelieveable experience for me!!

My good wife and I have been to Califorinia twice on holiday,Miami_Bahammas and the Key's on honeymoon and did the USA harvest run for 8 months. Also been to South Africa and Kenya in Africa,a few counties in Europe and most of the holiday destinations in the mediterainian(sp) sea for two weeks at a time. My wife and I would still like to visit the far East and "OZ"and NZ, we like our vacations!!!!! It is part of the culture in the UK that you go on holiday for two weeks somewhere foreign every year if finances permit to escape our dam weather!!!

I watched a 9860 STS in the field with an 8010, both with 12 row corn heads and both appeared to have about the same capacity under the conditions. The corn was around 175 bpa @ 19% moisture and both machines operated around 4.5 - 5 mph with an avg. of 8-10 kernals_sq. ft. of loss by farmers who have ran combines for a very long time. For the price of those two machines they need to perform better than that to justify themselves and I find their performance to be pretty very low. I have a 485R and if it operated any where near that kind of loss and productivity level, it would have been gone the same year it was bought.

farmertony, How well do you think your 8010 would do with a 16 row hdIJ You've got the inches to match up with just about anything out there. If a 9750 can handle one, it should be a piece of cake for an 8010. Clarke Machine, Howard, SD. has 3 or 4 running in eastern Nebr., 9750 9760, 9860. Brad Bish made a 16 30" JD crophead that is running in central IA. mounted on a CR960. Your frame is similar to 960 so you would have no problem carrying one. Just wondering.
