Combines 630F Hydraflex in muddy conditions

I am having the same problems with my 625. Have went through alot of guards and sections also. It seems I replace the guards without the hold downs alot more than the others. When I replace a section I put new bolts in because they are about wore off. Just about ready to trade back for my 925 with all the problems i'm having. Good luck

Ditto same problems on 630. Dealer wants me to put on 3 inch skid shoes to keep knife out of stones and dirt for $1500.00 bucks. I think JD should help us out. I broke more guards and sections than ever this year. My head is tilted back as far as possible.

What series combine do you have these heads onIJ I have mine on the 60's series and had wet conditions and had absolutely no problems. I'm wondering what the difference isIJ

I don't have the 600flex head yet so take this for what it's worth. After watching the video on deere's web site it says to increase the hydraulic pressure if you want more float. Seems backwards this way, but what you are doing is putting more pressure on the the back of the float arms which will take pressure_weight off the front of the cutter bar if I read_heard right. Seems like they used a much higher pressure setting than what you mentioned for soft soil. Again I haven't used one yet, but this is what I understood.

I have the head on a 9660STS. Yes we have tryed keeping the pressure higher but the head starts riding up on the stuble. we are not pushing any dirt. It is from dirt clods that the sickle hits. We are working mainly in the Bottoms.
