Combines 635 H flex opinion

We have a 630 flex. We hate the cutting system. It goes thru guards and sections like crazy. Its no more than an overgrown tiger jaws system. It will not cut thru grass or fine foxtail. We have cut mostly 15 inch no-tilled beans and have lateral tilt. The head floats good but not fast enough at times. I am wondering if your combine hydraulic system is capable of doing the job as the 60 series have a completely different system. Does anyone know if a SCH knife will fit on these new headsIJ

Yeah, that is what my dad said! They tried this system 20 years ago and it sucked then and now. Our hyd seem to be ok so farIJ Just not real impressed with the heads! We have also went thru about six boxes of sections and 4 boxes of the two different guards, that stuff is gettin expensive!

We really like our 635F! Run it on a 9660STS with contour master, would not have it any other way. along with the second combine (9500 and 925f) we cut the same number of acres of beans we always do, but this year, instead of 110 or 120 sep. hours on each, we did the whole thing in just over 80 hours on each machine. we only put in 30 or so sections and if I remember right only 5 guards. All of our beans were drilled, and could tell no difference in the stalk pushing the beans down between the two heads, although when the speed went upwards to 6 mph on the 35, it got a little worse. my $.02 Hank

sch is available for these machines now and are more reliable than original guard and cutter bar system. deere is working on problem in no till conditions and will probably have no set up early next year. Not enough opening to accept crop to crop and cut effciently in my opinion.
