I just put stalk rolls on my 444 so I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my ability. I have not personally removed a slip clutch, but I understand you have to remove the shaft from the gearbox. I have heard that the knife rolls can be tough on the gearboxes, but maybe someone else can shed some light on this for you. The stalk rolls come off by knocking out two roll pins (one inside the other). A couple of good roll pin punches helps here. These are toward the front of the stalk roll. Then you have to remove two bolts that clamp the stalk roll to the shaft. You can try the puller at this point, but I broke a bolt in the borrowed puller on the first one. I had to take a torch and split each stalk roll and then use the puller to get them off. It was a very tough job. Putting the new ones back on is the reverse and very easy. The low tin header does not have risers on the side and is basically straight from the tip to the top of the outside frame looking at the outside divider. Someone else may be able to offer a better description. The low tin headers are later model. If your rolls are hard to get off you better have at least a couple of days to do the job. bh
