I'm not really familar with what gas engine was available in a 6600 but if it is a JD 329 engine then it would have to be mostly identicle to a deisel 329 except for maybe pistons and cylinder head. In that case a deisel should just bolt in place of a gas.

I think that it should bolt right in. I wonder how much trouble changing the manifolds, pulleys on the front of the engine, and waterpump etc. will beIJ Somewhere there are supposed manuals that tell what is needed to make changes like this. A local mechanic has used these books before, but local dealers do not have a clue.

How much money do you think this project is going to cost youIJ Cause nowadays, you can get a good used 6620 for around or even under $10k. The ol 00 series are selling for under $5k!!! Is it really worth all the time and trouble to change the motor in that machineIJ Just hopin ya look at both sides before you do something or get stuck! Trust me, I have been there and I wish my 20_20 hindsight was 20_20 foresight!!

I agree make sure you look at the $. I know we looked at just upgrading the smaller engine to the larger engine and it would cost 4K for the engine. May want to upgrade machine and keep the old one for a backup. In today's low market I look at every $. Thats my 2 cents
