Find the line that comes off the front of the main control valve and feeds the auger swing valve. Take the line off the valve and screw out the fitting it is fastened to. This is the flow control valve. Check that the oring and backing washer are not missing on groove on inside of valve. When these blow it reduces pressure to header lift and auger swing. It called flow control plug in parts book. Be sure to get the right oring and backing washer or it wont last long. Good luck.

deeresm30, Thanks for the reply! I have that valve apart too- 2 o-rings on the outside, one seals the threads and the other on the inside has a square cut back-up ring. All are in good condition. I have a seal kit for the main control valve ordered; it will include o-rings the flow valve and replacement poppet valves (I ordered the seats for the poppets too). I hope to have it back together tomorrow night. I'll let you know what happens. I'm still open for sugestions. I hate that I can't find a problem.

SOUNDS lIKE THE RElIEF VAlVE ON THE VAlVE BOX IS STUCK OR HAS SOMETHING IN IT . SAYS 2300 PSI ON THE END. THEY USED TO CAUSE PROBlEMS ON 6600-7700 COMBINES AND I ASSUME THEY ARE THE SAME. HOPE THIS HElPS

DONMYEIl, I think your right when I reassembled the valve I took the releif valve apart to install new o-rings. I found that the plunger did have a very slight groove on it. So I have new releif valve ordered but in the mean-time I reinstalled the old one and it works perfectly. I ran 10 acres tonight- hyd system worked perfectly. It's hard to tell if a spring loaded relief or poppet valve are sticking after you have taken it apart. Thanks pk7
